Wavy Rainbows Crochet Blanket- Free Pattern

I have been working on a wavy pattern for awhile. I really wanted to do something with rainbow colors. I think this one turned out perfect. It is the right amount of wave that I wanted and I love the colors! I made this in a baby blanket size. However, you could make it larger by adding chains in multiples of 10 until it is the size you want.

Here is the free pattern!

Materials Needed:

Yarn: I used 6 rainbow colors and white in between. You could do this or change it to fit your taste. You could also just do one color. Here are some options that I would use:

Hook: I used an H hook for this project

Other Items: yarn needle, scissors

Abbreviations:

Ch- Chain

sc- single crochet

dc- double crochet

dc2tog- double crochet 2 together

Pattern:

Start with first color (I used purple)

Ch 82 to start

Row 1: Dc in 3rd ch from hook and in each of the next 2 chains, do 3 dc in the next ch, dc in each of the next 4, skip 2 ch, (dc in each of the next 4 ch, do 3 dc in the next ch, dc in each of the next 4 ch, skip 2 ch), repeat what is in the parentheses across, ch 2, turn.

Row 2: Dc in first 3 stitches, (the first stitch will go in the stitch right after the ch 3) skip 2 stitches, do 1 dc in each of the next 4 stitches, dc 3 dc in the next stitch, ((do 1 dc in each of the next 4 stitches, skip next 2 stitches, do 1 dc in each of the next 4 stitches, do 3 dc in the next stitch)), repeat what is in the double parentheses across, when you get to the last 5 stitches, dc in the next 3 and dc2tog at the end, ch 2, turn.

Row 3: Dc2tog, dc in each of next 3 stitches, do 3 dc on the next stitch, do 1 dc in each of the next 4 stitches, skip 2 stitches, (dc in each of the next 4 stitches, do 3 dc in the next stitch, do 1 dc in each of the next 4 stitches, skip 2 stitches) do what is in the parentheses across, when you get to the last 3 stitches, dc in each of the first two and then dc in the chaining turn on previous row, ch 2, turn.

Row 4: Repeat row 2

Row 5: Repeat row 3

Row 6: Repeat row 2

Row 7: Repeat row 3

Row 8: Repeat row 2

Switch to white color

Row 9: Repeat row 3

Row 10: Repeat row 2

Switch to the next color (I used blue)

Continue this pattern throughout the blanket. I switched every 8 rows to white. I did white for 2 rows. Then I switched to the next color for 8 rows.

When I finished, I sc around the whole blanket with the white. I also did 3 sc in each corner.

That’s it!

What do you think? Will you try this pattern? I would love to hear!

Happy Crocheting!
