Crochet Sherbet Striped Baby Blanket- Free Pattern

Spring this year for me has meant baby season! Not for me, but for many of my friends! And most of the babies to be born have been boys so far. I love to make baby items. It is so much fun to make an item that people will cherish. I still have all the quilts that my mom and others made for my children. I just love them!

So, since I had so many friends having babies at the same time, I needed some quick baby blankets! I wanted to make some with repetitive stitches or large yarn and hooks, or both! I had already made one corner to corner blanket which you can find here: How to do Crochet Corner to Corner Stitch and A Free Baby Blanket Pattern.

For this blanket, I decided to do a brightly colored, repetitive, granny square blanket. I personally still love granny squares. I know some people think they are “old fashioned” but I think they are so versatile and fun! You can make so many things with them! What do you think? Do you still like them?

I used some bright colored yarn from my stash, for this project. Some of this yarn I was able to get on clearance at Walmart! Always check your clearance!
