How to Crochet a Soap Saver

Do your kids leave their soap on the side of the tub or in the tub to melt away? Here a is a fun solution. They can slip their soap bar into the soap saver and keep it from melting! This soap saver can also double as a scrubber. They are very functional and make great gifts for anyone! Here is a simple pattern that you can use to make your own soap scrubbers!
Materials Needed
For this project, it is best to use cotton yarn. Cotton yarn can be washed and it doesn’t shrink as much as acrylic yarn. I used
Abbreviations Used
Sc- Single Crochet
Hdc- Half Double Crochet
Ch- Chain
Body of the Bag
Magic Circle. Place 10 single crochet in the magic circle. Join at the end. Chain one.

Row 1: Sc 2 sc around. Join at the end. Chain one. (20 stitches)

Row 2: Sc 2, sc 1. Repeat this pattern around. Join at the end. Chain one. (30 stitches)

Row 3: Sc 2, sc 1, sc 1. Repeat this pattern around. Join at the end. Chain one. (40 stitches)

Row 4- 12: Hdc in first stitch. Ch 1. Skip stitch. Hdc in the next stitch. Ch 1. Skip stitch.

Repeat this pattern around. At the end join. Chain 1. (You will have 20 hdc and 20 ch spaces.)
At the end of row 12, you will finish off.

Next we will make the tie for the top.
Tie For Top of Bag
Ch 45.
Weave the chain through the top of the bag that you made. I also tied a small knot in the end of each chain. If you wanted to, you could also sting some pony beads on the end to make a tassel.

Tuck in all the loose ends and you are done!
