Crochet Puppy Bandana- Free Pattern

We love our new puppy!! His breed is called a Shiba Inu. When my son and I saw him, we fell in love. He is very spoiled. He has lots of toys and treats. Today I wanted to make him a puppy bandana for the 4th of July. This is a very easy pattern. You could work it up in different colors for different holidays and embellish it also! It took me about an hour to make. Doesn’t he look so handsome? Here is how to make the Crochet Puppy Bandana.

Materials:

Red Heart Red Yarn

Red Heart White Yarn

Red Heart Blue Yarn

Crochet Hook: H

Yarn Needle

Abbreviations Used:

Dc- Double Crochet

Ch- Chain

Sc- Single Crochet

Dc2Tog- Double crochet 2 together

crochet baby toys

Pattern:

Start with the red yarn.

Chain 18 to start

Row 1: Dc in the second chain from hook and across, switch to white, ch 2, turn.

Row 2: Dc in each dc across, 17 total. Change to red, ch 2, turn.

Row 3: Dc2Tog, dc across, dc2tog on last 2 stitches, change to white, ch 2, turn.

Row 4: Dc2Tog, dc across, dc2tog on last 2 stitches, change to red, ch 2, turn.

Row 5: Dc2Tog, dc across, dc2tog on last 2 stitches, change to white, ch 2, turn.

Row 6: Dc2Tog, dc across, dc2tog on last 2 stitches, change to red, ch 2, turn.

Row 7: Dc2Tog, dc across, dc2tog on last 2 stitches, change to white, ch 2, turn.

Row 8: Dc2Tog, dc across, dc2tog on last 2 stitches, change to red, ch 2, turn.

Row 9: Dc2Tog on last 2 stitches, finish off.

Join in any corner with the blue yarn. Sc around the triangle. Put 3 sc in each corner. Finish off.

With blue, ch 20, place the triangle up to the chain and join. (See Photo) Sc across the top of the triangle and it will join as you go. At the end of the top of the triangle, chain 21. Turn.

Sc in the second chain from the hook and across the chain, across the triangle and then across the last chain. This will make a ribbon to tie the bandana around the pet.

Tuck in all the ends.

That’s it!

What do you think? Do you have a special pet to make a bandana for? I would love to hear or see pictures if you do!

Happy Crochet!

Elizabeth
