St. Patrick’s Day Crochet Wreath- Free Pattern

Well, with St. Patrick’s Day right around the corner, I figured it was time to spruce up the house in some green! Plus, the clocks go forward this weekend which means finally, more sunlight! I am so excited! So I wanted to make a springy wreath to put on my mantle.

For this wreath, I used the same clovers that were featured on my: Crochet 4 Leaf Clover Embellishment- Free Pattern post. So you can find how to do those on that page. There are photos to help you along! I also used a Dollar Tree foam wreath. You can find a link to those below. And for only $1.00 each! I have made all sorts of wreaths with this foam.

Materials:

Wreath Ring:

Crochet Hook H:

Yarn: Green, Yellow

Yarn Needle, Scissors

Abbreviations Used:

Sc- Single Crochet

Hdc- half double crochet

Ch- Chain

Wreath Pattern

For the striped wreath:

With Green Yarn:

Chain 15

Row 1: In second chain from hook, hdc, and in each across. Ch 1, turn.

Row 2: Hdc across. (14 total) Ch 1, turn.

Row 3: Hdc across. (14 total) Ch 1, turn.

Row 4: Hdc across. (14 total) Ch 1, turn.

Change to Yellow Yarn:

Row 5: Hdc across. (14 total) Ch 1, turn.

Row 6: Hdc across. (14 total) Ch 1, turn.

Row 7: Hdc across. (14 total) Ch 1, turn.

Row 8: Hdc across. (14 total) Ch 1, turn.

Change to green yarn:

Repeat the green and yellow pattern until you have 12 of each stripe.

Check to see if the fabric is long enough to fit around your wreath. Add or subtract rows accordingly.

Finish off.

Wrap the fabric around and sew it in place by stitching the fabric closed around the wreath. Sew the ends closed as well. Tuck in all loose ends.

Wreath Bow:

Ch 10

Row 1: Sc in second chain from hook and across. (9 total) Ch 1, turn.

Row 2- 100: Repeat sc on each row.

When you are finished, make this into a bow shape and sew it with the yarn needle and extra yarn onto the wreath.

Clovers:

Refer to my Crochet 4 Leaf Clover Embellishment- Free Pattern

Sew the clovers on. Tuck in all ends. That’s it!
